Brett was a Nilfgaardian soldier stationed at White Orchard in the year 1272. Brett assisted Geralt of Rivia in battle by repeatedly charging a dead wolf on horseback (though his true motivation may simply have been impressing a passing trio of fellow soldiers). When Geralt decided to meditate for sixteen hours during the battle, Brett stayed by his side to safeguard him. When the Witcher awoke, the pair was set upon by another wolf, but both Brett and the Witcher just sort of walked away in opposite directions, bringing their time together to a close.

Brett was known not only for his relentlessness in battle, but also his sense of humor. During his time with Geralt, he would frequently joke that the Witcher had upset him and he might attack.
